SJD Freight LLC's Story:
Hello, I am Steven Jeffrey Dicherico, the founder of SJD Freight LLC. In 2014, I had completed a contract and it was time for a new beginning. A conversation with my brother turned on a light switch. My brother said, “So Steve what’s next? Coming back to the courier business to sell?” My reply was “what if I could sell for myself?”
I began to put a business plan together. What was most important to me was I never wanted to tell anyone, “I have no availability.” Unfortunately, if you're a carrier on any level that happens everyday. I realized soon that being a carrier/courier might not be for me. I would call other courier companies and try to affiliate with them. Everyone kept saying, “You're not trying to be a courier company, you're trying to be a broker.”
I called a business that taught about Freight Brokering and said, “so what's up with this Broker thing?” After going over it with a freight education company I made some changes to my plan. I now wanted to get into freight not parcels. Also, I wanted to focus on being on the business side of transportation, not being on the road. Freight Brokers are exactly that! Clients can say no to SJD Freight LLC if our rate does not work, but its so important to us to be able to offer an option.
SJD Freight LLC was started in 2017. There has been many challenges, but there has been so much success.
